Conference on Excellence and Gender Equality: Critical Perspectives on Gender and Knowledge in the Humanities and Social Sciences
Friday 7 June 2019

ANU Philosophy’s Associate Professor Fiona Jenkins will be involved in an upcoming conference through the ANU Gender Institute on ‘Critical Perspectives on Gender and Knowledge in the Humanities and Social Sciences’.

This conference aims to reshape current approaches to gender inequality in academia, and will be of interest to all those concerned about understanding and rectifying persistent patterns of inequality, particularly in the often over-looked HASS disciplines.

By challenging ‘gender-neutral’ models of knowledge and asking how gender intersects with judgments of value, authority and excellence, the conference investigates the claim that genuine research excellence requires an equity component.

Dates: 26-28 June 2019
