Placement Success for Philosophy Women

Philosophy at ANU continues to rank in the top 10 in the world  and number 1 in Australia (according to recently released QS world university rankings) and at the same time School of Philosophy PhDs are achieving excellent placements globally. This year eight job candidates have obtained good placements,  with six of them finding permanent positions.

Women have been particularly well represented, securing 5 of the new placements.

The positions obtained by the successful graduates include:

  • 4 year post-doc at University of Bergen. AOS: Philosophy of Mind. Previously post-doc at the ANU.
  • Position with University of Edinburgh. AOS: Philosophy of Language and Philosophical Logic.
  • Position with the University of Sheffield. AOS: Political Philosophy & Ethics.
  • Position with  Aarhus University. AOS: Epistemology and Philosophical Logic.
  • Position with  by Kansas State University. AOS: Moral, Social, and Political Philosophy.
  • Position with the University of Manchester. AOS: Political Philosophy, Normative Ethics.
  • Postdoc at the Rotman Institute of Philosophy. AOS: Philosophy of Science, Philosophy of Biology, Philosophy of Cognitive Science.
  • Postion with University of Amsterdam. AOS: Social and Political Philosophy. Previously a postdoc at Oxford University and Princeton University.
