Public Launch of the HMI Project at ANU

Head of School and HMI Project Leader, Associate Professor Seth Lazar is pleased to announce the launch of the ANU Humanising Machine Intelligence Grand Challenge at Manning Clark Hall on August 9, at 6pm.

HMI is a major new research project at the ANU, which unites computer science, philosophy, and the social sciences, in pursuit of a more ethical future for machine intelligence.

The project will be launched by the ANU Vice Chancellor, Professor Brian Schmidt, and the keynote will be deliver by Professor Shannon Vallor of Santa Clara University and Google.

Associate Professor Lazar will be joined by a number of colleagues from across the ANU, including our Associate Professor’s Katie Steele and Colin Klein from the School of Philosophy.
