It has been an incredible time for the School of Philosophy with some of its members receiving important recognitions lately:

• Professors Christian Barry and Katie Steele received the Laurance S. Rockefeller Visiting Faculty Fellowships at Princeton’s University Center for Human Values and will be going to Princeton soon.
• Former HDR student Heather Browning (currently a lecturer at the University of Southampton), was a joint recipient of the 2026 Universities Federation for Animal Welfare Early Career Animal Welfare Researcher of the Year Award.
• Most recently, Kirsten Mann has been awarded the Annette Baier Prize for 2026 (given each year for an outstanding philosophical paper published by an Australasian woman during the previous calendar year), for her paper “Aggregation and the Large Numbers Objection”.
