Thesis title: Why Believe This or That or Anything at All?
My thesis defends an instrumental theory of epistemic normativity. The central chapter ‘Embedded Epistemic Instrumentalism‘ is forthcoming in Philosophers’ Imprint.
I also have several side projects: using experimental methods to test theories of counterfactuals; looking at examples of progress in philosophy; applying the pessimistic meta-induction about scientific theories to philosophical theories; and examining the difference between reflexive skepticism and non-reflexive skepticism.
Epistemology, Philosophy of Science, Metaethics, Metaphilosophy, Experimental philosophy and Legal Theory.
