'Gender Equality in Social Sciences'
Tuesday 9 July 2019

Associate Professor Fiona Jenkins from the ANU School of Philosophy was recently interviewed for an article in Broad Agenda discussing 'Gender equality in social sciences'.

Fiona is a member of the University's 'Gendered Excellences in Social Science' (GESS) project team. GESS seeks to examine and understand the problems with gender inequality in the social sciences and to find methods of addressing persistent levels of inequality. GESS also recently held a conference where Fiona was one of the main organisers.

Fiona talks about the challenges faced by women in the field of social sciences, particularly problems associated with the distribution of funding for projects. She also discusses the significance of empowering women in the field and its links to proper funding.
