Philosophy at ANU climbs in 2021 QS World University Rankings
Friday 19 March 2021

The study of Philosophy at the Australian National University has received a favourable outcome as part of the 2021 QS World Rankings University Rankings.

Philosophy as a discipline has increased in rankings to 5th in the world in 2021 (from 7th in 2020) whilst maintaining its number one position in the Oceania region.
Philosophy has been on an upward trajectory in the past few years, with two new hires and an increased profile in both national and international grants and collaborations.

The QS Subjects rankings are determined based on four components: academic reputation, employer reputation, research citations and h-index. International rankings remain important markers of reputation, which affects the University’s ability to attract the best staff and students and to partner with universities internationally.
