The school has the pleasure of congratulating two faculty members for receiving recognition at the Vice-Chancellor's Annual Awards.

Associate Professor Seth Lazar has received the VC Award for Excellence in Research. The award was given in recognition of Lazar's research successes, including most recently his leadership of the Humanising Machine Intelligence Grand Challenge - an interdisciplinary research project drawing on philosophy, sociology, political science and computer science. Seth participated in a Q&A about his research and his nomination for the award, which is available in full here https://www.anu.edu.au/news/all-news/associate-professor-seth-lazar. Congratulations Seth!

The ANU Gender Institute, currently convened by Associate Professor Fiona Jenkins has received the Clare Burton Award for Excellence in Equity and Diversity. Fiona, alongside Margaret Jolly, Kim Rubenstein and the rest of the team at the Gender Institute have the exceptional task of promoting ongoing equity in gender and sexuality in research, a task that they have performed to the highest standard since the launch of the institute in 2011. Well done team! A richly deserved acknowledgement of your dedication to gender equity.
