Welcoming Associate Professor Carolyn Jennings
Thursday 18 April 2019

The ANU School of Philosophy is pleased to welcome Carolyn Jennings, Associate Professor at the University of California, Merced, a Visiting Fellow for the next few weeks.

Carolyn brings a wealth of knowledge and experience, particularly in the philosophy of the mind.

On her decision to come to the ANU, Carolyn writes:

“The ANU has an ideal philosophical community, which is both highly interactive and welcoming to outsiders. Being a part of that has been of great value to me. The department that I work in at University of California, Merced is deeply interdisciplinary, including those with backgrounds in computer science, linguistics, neuroscience, and psychology. This model has some important strengths, but it does mean that I interact with only a few philosophers on a regular basis. It has been wonderful to have a bounty of talks and working groups to go to here at ANU. I don't know of another place that could have offered this while also treating me with so much warmth. I think the discipline could learn a lot from what is being done here."
