  • Biography

Agnes Callard is Associate Professor of Philosophy and Director of Undergraduate Studies at the University of Chicago. She received her MA in Classics, and her PhD in Philosophy, both from UC Berkeley. Her book Aspiration: the Agency of Becoming (OUP, 2018) offers an account of how we work to acquire new values. She also works in ancient philosophy, and writes for the public in a variety of venues.
