Thesis title: The Functions of Consciousness; 2026

I am a first year PhD student in Philosophy, working with Victoria McGeer, Daniel Stoljar, and Frank Jackson. I work primarily in the philosophy of mind, and am interested in psychological research on unconscious processes and what this means for the functions of consciousness. I also have wider interests in the philosophy of psychiatry, and in particular what happens when consciousness becomes disrupted in psychopathological cases.

Before coming to ANU, I earned a BA in Philosophy and Psychology, a BA(Hons) in Philosophy, and an MA in Philosophy, from Victoria University of Wellington in New Zealand.
