This Friday, June 18th, Mario Günther (ANU) will present on "Probabilities of Conditionals and Imaged Probabilities".

Abstract: Probabilities of conditionals are conditional probabilities. This equation has the ring of truth. And yet, Lewis has proven it to be false---trivial cases aside. We show that a related equation is true: probabilities of conditionals are imaged probabilities. Our equation saves that the probability of a conditional is the probability that the conditional is true. Furthermore, our equation explains away the appeal of the first equation while it also explains why the first is false in general.
