In philosophy of action it is commonly presumed that agents perform actions by moving their body.  Some even claim that bodily movement is necessary for agency.  Call this claim embodiment. I argue that embodiment is not a necessary condition for agency.  I show that there are cases where embodiment leads to a contradiction, given a minimal definition of agency.
